1. 🎭 Liars at a Funeral Brings Laughs to Port Stanley

   Now playing at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre, July 16 – August 2

   What happens when you trap a family full of secrets, grudges, and superstitions inside a funeral home during an ice storm? You get Liars at a Funeral, a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud farce that’s delighting audiences this summer at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre.

   Written by award-winning playwright Sophia Fabiilli and directed by Julie Tomaino (a Dora and Jessie Award–winning choreographer and former Rockette), this cleverly crafted comedy features five actors playing nine outrageous roles. Chaos, curses, and confusion unfold as Grandma Mavis’s funeral becomes a family showdown like no other.

   Catch it before it’s gone—performances run through August 2, with evening shows at 7:30 PM. Don’t miss Talk Back Tuesday on July 22, when you can stay after the matinee for a behind-the-scenes chat with the cast and creative team.

2. 🌈 Pride in the Park – Elgin County Pride

 📊 Canadian Home Sales Tick Up Again — But Listings Drop

Good news for homeowners and cautious optimism for buyers:
National home sales rose 2.8% in June, marking the second straight month of growth. But here’s the catch—new listings fell by 2.9%, tightening supply across the country.

🔍 In the GTA, sales were up 8.1% month-over-month, but prices continued to dip slightly.
The national average home price sits at $691,600, with GTA closer to $978,000.

We’re seeing signs of a market turning a corner—but still in balanced territory. That means there are opportunities on both sides: sellers can benefit from tighter inventory, while buyers may find wiggle room on price.
