☕ Union General Coffee Co.: Small Town, Big Taste
If you're a coffee lover always on the hunt for something more meaningful than the usual chain brew, let me introduce you to Union General Coffee Company — a small-batch roaster that makes your cup count.
🎯 Who They Are
Local roots, global reach: Based in Canada, Union General sources beans carefully from farmers they partner with, ensuring both high quality and ethical support.
Small-batch, big flavour: Their approach isn’t about mass production—it’s about roasting coffee that speaks character, roast profile, and flavour. Every bean counts.
☁️ What Makes Them Different
Sourcing matters: They believe in transparency. Want to know where your beans came from, who grew them, and why it matters? They lay it out.
Personalized blends: Have an event coming up? They’ll customize a blend and create one-of-a-kind labels—perfect for weddings, corporate gifts, or parties.
Flexible grind options: Whether you’re into whole bean, French press, filter, or percolator—they’ve got you covered.
🍁 Their Lineup (What to Try)
Here are a few by name to know:
“Road Trip – Medium” — for those warm, easy mornings.
“Crazy Cat” — bold and playful.
“Night Owl – Medium-Dark” — perfect for late-night work, study sessions, or cozy evenings.
“Angry Bear – Dark Roast” — intense, full-bodied; best for people who want their coffee to punch back.
🌿 Why It Matters
In an oversaturated coffee market, Union General stands out by offering:
Authenticity — Each bag tells a story: from farm to roast to your cup.
Community & craft — Small scale means more care, more flavour, and more connection.
Personal touch — Whether it’s a custom label or grind choice, they treat you like more than a transaction.
If you’re tired of the same old café chain blends, and want something with character, conscience, and craft—Union General is absolutely worth a try. Drop me a line if you want pairing ideas, brew tips, or just hearing what I thought after trying a bag.

Mortgage with Brad — Weekly Mortgage Minute 🏡
This week’s tip is all about credit card utilization—one of the fastest ways to improve your credit score.
👉 Keep your balances under 30% of your limit.
For example, if your card limit is $1,000, aim to report under $300.
💡 Pro Tip: Make a small payment before your statement date. That way, the balance that gets reported to the credit bureau is lower—even if you still use the card after.
Why it matters: Lower utilization = higher score = better mortgage options.
Small, consistent steps like this can move you closer to homeownership—or to refinancing with better terms.
