Welcome back to another edition of The Creative Hub of Elgin County.

More mortgage options. Less stress. Helping everyone home and proud to support the local voices that make this community thrive.

This newsletter exists for one reason: to keep Elgin County connected.

Each week, it highlights what’s happening locally from events and small businesses to creative projects and big ideas and helps them find the people who’ll appreciate them most. Because when we support what’s happening around us, momentum builds fast.

Have an event coming up? Launching something new? Running a local business or passion project you want more eyes on? My inbox is always open.

And if you know someone who loves discovering what’s happening locally, pass this along. The more people involved, the stronger the ripple effect.

Here’s what’s on tap for this week 👇

Event Roundup for this week

🌷 Belmont Market – March 21 🌷

Come out to the Belmont Arena (upstairs in the hall) on March 21 from 10–4pm and support over 40 local vendors.

Free admission — with donations accepted in support of the Belmont Library 📚

If you love:
• Shopping local
• Handmade goods
• Community events
• Discovering new small businesses

This is a great way to spend a Saturday.

Let’s show up and support the people building our local economy.

🚂 A Velocipede… A WHAT???

Before trucks.
Before work vans.
Before motorized anything.

Railway workers sometimes used a velocipede — a small rail vehicle powered by hand or foot — to inspect and maintain miles of track.

On Saturday February 21st at 2PM, Mr. David Harding is taking everyone on a journey from Eden to Port Burwell at:

📍 The Edison, Vienna & Area Museum
6209 Plank Rd, Vienna

Hosted by the Bayham Historical Society.

If you love local stories, rail history, or just learning something new about Elgin County’s roots — this is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I love seeing these smaller community events keeping our history alive.

Supporting local history groups is how we keep the character of our communities strong.

Heading out to the West End

The Dutton Farmers Market is now accepting farm vendor applications for the 2026 season (May 31 - October 4), held Sundays from 9am-1pm at the Dutton Community Centre. We’re seeking Southwestern Ontario farmers and producers who grow, raise, or produce their own products including fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, dairy, herbs, mushrooms, grains and seeds.

Our market is a welcoming Sunday tradition where customers intentionally support local agriculture and build relationships with the farmers who feed them. The first round of applications closes February 20, apply online by clicking the link here

You’ve probably seen my name at the top — Sponsored by Mortgage with Brad.

So instead of re-introducing myself, I wanted to make this practical.

I have a free mortgage app (built for me) that lets you:

• Run payment scenarios
• Compare different down payments
• Explore refinance options
• Get a rough idea of what you might qualify for

No commitment. No pressure. Just clarity.

🎁 Here’s the fun part:
Anyone who downloads the app between now and next week will be entered to win a $50 gift card to a local business previously featured in the Creative Hub

Even if you’re not buying anytime soon, it’s a smart tool to keep in your back pocket.

Helping everyone home — and supporting local while we’re at it.
